World Health Organization (WHO)

The World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for international public health. The WHO is a central source for COVID-19-related research and information for governments and individuals worldwide. Here are some useful links:

  • COVID-19 and Sexual and Reproductive Health – homepage for COVID-19 related information for pregnant and postpartum people. Includes frequently asked questions, information on emerging research and best practices.   • Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Pandemic – WHO’s homepage for COVID-19 resources and information. Updated regularly, this provides a huge amount of information and tools for pregnant and non-pregnant people. https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019
  • Guidelines on antenatal care – First published in 2016, this is the current standard for prenatal care worldwide. It covers the typical appointment schedule between a pregnant person and their care team. This can be used as a reference during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep you informed on how your course of care may be changing in relation to care provided during normal times. https://www.who.int/reproductivehealth/news/antenatal-care/en/

Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC)

The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada is a national medical society in Canada, representing over 4,000 obstetricians/gynaecologists, family physicians, nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals in the field of sexual reproductive health.


Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG)

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is a professional association based in London, United Kingdom. Its members are specialists in the fields of childbirth and female sexual and reproductive health.

National Perinatal Association (NPA)

NPA is an organization that brings together those interested in perinatal care. They promote evidence based practices and are comprised of healthcare providers, parents & caregivers, educators and service providers.
